Robert E Matus DVM, MS, DipACVIM (Oncology and SAIM), MRCVS – after graduating in 1997 from Purdue University in Indiana, US – completed a small animal medical and surgical internship at the University of Minnesota, and a residency in medicine at the Animal Medical Center (AMC) in New York City under E Gregory MacEwen, who was considered one of the founders of veterinary medical oncology.
Staying on at the AMC, he eventually became head of The Donaldson-Atwood Cancer Clinic. During this time, he certified as an American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine diplomate in internal medicine and charter diplomate in oncology. Following this, he co-founded Veterinary Specialists of Central NY, where he practised until moving overseas. Robert is now not in practice.
