This course will take the delegates through thoracic and abdominal imaging for emergency cases, including dyspnoea, trauma, acute abdomen. Using a mixture of cases and generic approach so that you will gain confidence in your approach to these challenging cases and maximise your use of different imaging modalities, to get a better outcome for your patients.

Learning objectives

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the different imaging modalities applicable in the emergency room
  • Interpret radiographs and ultrasound for common presentations in the emergency room
  • Understand the use of point of care ultrasound in the ER and techniques that can be used (A-FAST, T-FAST)
