About the course

This course is ideal for those veterinary surgeons who are familiar with abdominal ultrasound, use this diagnostic aid regularly in practice and are ready to perform some more challenging examinations. Delegates will be taught various techniques to identify the pancreas, adrenal glands, peritoneum and medial iliac lymphnodes. Participants will have ample opportunity to practise the use of Doppler for examination of larger blood vessels. Case based examples will help participants consolidate their knowledge of the topics covered.

By the end of this course delegates should have a thorough understanding of-

• Performing and interpreting ultrasonographic examination of the right limb and body of the pancreas.

• Performing and interpreting ultrasonographic examination of both adrenal glands and the peritoneum.

• How to perform basic techniques for the identification of portosystemic shunts

• The basic approaches for the identification of large blood vessel thrombi.
