About the course

Anaesthesia is one of the biggest responsibilities we have as nurses, even routine procedures on healthy animals can become a challenge. We have a duty of care alongside our veterinary surgeons to monitor and react effectively to any problems occurring under general anaesthesia.
Specific areas to be covered

  • Anaesthesia planning and case preparation
  • Proactive monitoring -help my heart rate is 200!!!
  • Surgeries which may cause challenges eg GDV, diaphragmatic rupture
  • Disease processes which may cause challenges eg diabetes, cardiac disease
