About the course

Are you utilising all of your internal medicine skills in practice? Are you up to date with the latest treatments for melanomas in your patients? Are you confident in your approach to uveitis cases? Have you exhausted all treatment options for that head shaker case? How do you approach the itchy horse where every owner-administered treatment has failed? Is liver fluke really an issue in our equine population? Is metformin going tomake a difference in your EMS patients? What new evidence based medicine can help you with your chronic medicine cases in practice? When should you try a different approach to the “tried and tested” protocols of equine medicine?

Equine medicine is a rapidly evolving facet of veterinary medicine, particularly in regard to new treatments and diagnostics. This one day course has been developed to equip equine practitioners with a systematic approach to the more complicated internal medicine cases seen in practice. The series of interactive lectures will give practitioners the opportunity to hear equine specialists sharing their latest research in equine medicine and learn how this can be applied to their own cases for best patient outcome.

This exciting new addition to our CPD programme is structured to be suitable for delegates working towards an RCVS Cert AVP in equine medicine but is also equally useful for those wishing to advance their knowledge and skills in general equine practice at an advanced practitioner level.
