About the course

This theoretical and practical course is designed to show you how to optimise team work – making the most of all your staff! Topics to be covered include relevant anatomy, oral examination, dental charting, radiography, treatment planning, local anaesthetic nerve blocks, prophylaxis and homecare, instrument sharpening and tooth extraction techniques.

Course goals: By the end of this course delegates should be able to:
• Identify commonly encountered oral and dental diseases in the dog and cat
• Produce diagnostic full mouth dental radiographs quickly and efficiently
• Understand basic radiological interpretation
• Perform effective periodontal prophylaxis
• Provide safe and effective local anaesthetic nerve blocks
• Give advice on evidence-based periodontal homecare options
• Maintain dental and surgical instruments
• Extract teeth using mucoperiosteal flap techniques (vets)
