About the course

This 1-Day CPD looks at how Dogs learn and how to 'Do No Harm', with the advice we give in Veterinary Practice.

We also look at tools we have in practice that can help clients with their Dogs Behaviour and how we can better support our clients with Gold Standard, up-to-date behaviour advice.

Knowing what is the best and most current basic behaviour and training advice is a minefield, especially as the dog training and behaviour industry is not yet regulated in the UK. Having a comprehensive understanding of how dogs learn is a must for anyone working in practice. Understanding this complex area enables veterinary staff to understand the implications that our advice may have and how we can help prevent problems from escalating.

Treating each dog and case on it's own merit, we can understand that there is no 'One size fits all' solution when it comes to behaviour advice. We will discuss the tools you can use to help your clients prevent behaviour issues and how to keep safe with an existing behaviour issue whilst awaiting referral. By offering behaviour first aid consults, we can bond our clients, achieve a better relationship with our canine patients and offer a rewarding service for all involved.
