A day course to improve decision-making skills in the following emergency scenarios; severe dyspnoea, the recumbent horse, the non-weight bearing lameness and how to approach and manage wounds. Pre-course online theoretical learning will allow for emphasis on the day to be placed on practical training and case-based discussions. A tour of Liphook Equine Hospital and Laboratory will be available after the course. Pre-course Online Learning Pre-course online learning available prior to the CPD day, which will include the underlying differential diagnoses and strategies for dealing with emergency presentations including colic, recumbency, periparturient emergencies, non-weight bearing lameness, and wounds. Morning Lectures Morning Lectures will cover practical tips and logical decision making in common emergency scenarios faced by ambulatory equine vets. Afternoon Practicals will rotate through the following area: • Wound assessment (cadaver legs) • Bandaging and splint placement (live horses) • Recumbent horse case scenarios (interactive session, online voting)
