In this lecture, we will review diagnostic, surgical management and postoperative complications of patellar luxation. We will put particular emphasis on having a deeper understanding of the extensor mechanism, bone deformities and soft tissue adaptations commonly seen in dogs with patellar luxation. The aim of the lecture is to assist practitioners to create a tailored plan for dogs with patellar luxation seen in general practice.
