Not every practitioner can lay their hands on CT or MRI but almost everyone has access to an x-ray machine. Being confident with your radiographic interpretation takes the stress out of everyday situations. Is there a foreign body? Does this cat need an exploratory laparotomy? Mastering the habit of running through key steps when viewing radiographs will reassure you that you aren’t missing problems.

This course will help you develop your own radiograph reading routine by familiarising you with the normal abdomen, including normal variants, and helping you understand the key concepts in interpretation. Following introductory lectures there will be an interactive radiograph reading session where you can apply what you’ve learned and develop your improved technique with the help of an expert tutor.

After attending this course you will be able to:
• Read your abdominal radiographs using a logical technique
• Recognise normal abdominal radiographic anatomy
• Identify common abnormalities on radiographs of the abdomen of dogs and cats
• Apply key concepts to abdominal radiograph interpretation
• Use your developing reading technique to start identifying more subtle abnormalities.
