About the course

In this workshop we will cover the two most common reasons for upper airway abstraction in the dog.

  • brachycephalic obstructive airway
  • syndrome; and,
  • laryngeal paralysis.

The course will include a practical session on how to perform a permanent tracheostomy and a left arytenoid lateralisation (“laryngeal tieback”) procedure.

This workshop is suitable for vets in first opinion practice wishing to improve their knowledge of the surgery involved or indeed take the first steps towards embarking on obtaining the skill set to perform such surgeries themselves and would be of particular interest to those working towards an RCVS CertAVP in Surgery.
