About the course

Haematological emergencies are commonly seen in veterinary clinics and nurses play an essential role in the stabilisation, work up and management of these cases.  This course will look at primary and secondary coagulation disorders including diagnosis, treatment and nursing considerations.  This course will also provide information on transfusion medicine, blood donation and administering blood component therapy.

Specific areas to be covered:

•  Overview of coagulation

•  Anaemia

•  Thrombocytopaenia

•  Blood transfusion therapy
