This day will focus on advanced anaesthesia techniques, breaking it down into pre-clinical exams, premedication, induction of anaesthesia, peri-operative anaesthesia, discussion of monitoring techniques, troubleshooting and complications, recovering patients and considerations for recovery.  The course will include case discussion, opportunity for questions and demonstrations of advanced monitoring equipment.

Specific areas to be covered:

•  Anaesthetic drugs – doses, effects and considerations for individual patients

•  Peri-operative anaesthesia management

• Advanced monitoring equipment – overview, troubleshooting, patient consideration

• Patients with systemic disease – how it may affect your drug choice and anaesthetic considerations

•  Anaesthetic recovery

•  Anaesthetic management and case discussions
