Course Description

The first part of this workshop will examine the use of computed tomography for the investigation of thoracic and abdominal disease, including illustrative examples of when advanced imaging can be of benefit to a case and the basic approach to interpreting CT images.

The second part will extend the basics of abdominal ultrasound scanning to the ultrasound of more challenging structures such as the adrenal glands, abdominal vasculature and lymph nodes. Practical hands-on sessions supervised by experienced ultrasonographers will allow delegates to improve their skills and there will also be a chance to practise some advanced techniques such as ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirates and biopsy.
