In this two-day course you will review machine set up and will learn how to recognise common artefacts, how to perform a basic Doppler examination and consider the ultrasonographic appearance of various common abnormalities. Case based examples will help you consolidate your knowledge and the highly practical nature of the course will enable you to improve their technique rapidly. Ultrasound guided biopsy and aspiration techniques will be taught. By the end of this course you should have a good understanding of: • Machine set up and recording of images • Commonly seen artefacts • The normal and abnormal ultrasonographic appearance of the abdomen including the liver, spleen, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract and pancreas. • Performing elementary abdominal Doppler examination • How to perform invasive ultrasound guided procedures
