Nurses Certificate in Animal Behaviour

Provided by

About the course

The emotional health of canine and feline patients is as important as their physical health and veterinary nurses are a crucial part of the veterinary team when it comes to dealing with these issues.

This fascinating programme will provide you with the tools that you need to understand patient behaviour and to give advice to owners on the prevention and management of common behavioural problems within the home and society.

Using a mixture of lectures, discussion groups and case histories the course will aim to improve understanding of the emotional basis of unwanted or unacceptable behaviours. The role of the veterinary nurse in prevention of emotional health problems in companion animals will be covered as well as their role in optimising the general practice experience for patients and their owners.

The programme is ideal for nurses who wish to establish their own ‘in practice’ service.
