How to identify behavioural factors when dealing with medical cases in general practice

About the course

The link between emotional and physical health is well established in human medicine and awareness in the veterinary profession is increasing. The relevance of investigating emotional health factors has been highlighted in relation to certain conditions, such as feline idiopathic cystitis, but the potential for emotion to influence the onset and progression of physical disease is still hugely underestimated. When faced with recurrent presentations of disease or with lower than expected efficacy of well established medical protocols it is important to consider emotional factors. This webinar aims to improve assessment of the emotional health of patients and show how to gather information about potential physical and social environmental stressors both of which can significantly improve successful detection and treatment of physical health issues.
