About the course

The value of understanding behaviour is perhaps underappreciated in the veterinary community. It is all too easy to focus largely on an animal’s physical health and not give enough consideration to their psychological state. Yet, much in the same way that human medicine is beginning to understand the significance of mental health, veterinary practice is increasingly embracing a more holistic approach to treatment. This series will help you recognise signs of emotional distress, understand the illnesses they may somaticize into, and solutions that will help to alleviate it. It will also cover how to deal with behaviourally challenging patients, including how to anticipate and avert an escalating situation.
