About the course

During this multidisciplinary day CPD we will focus on the assessment of the collapsing patient. The aim is to give you the tools required in primary care to triage and provide initial treatment for these patients. Which one can wait and which one may need further investigations or prompt referral.

We will cover useful clues in the history or by using video footage to help you in the diagnosis of seizures, syncope or other less common paroxysmal episodes. Management of the seizuring patient as well as the patient with severe neuromuscular disease will be discussed alongside conditions that can mimic a neurological disorder. Our cardiology team will tell you all you need to know about syncope, our internal medicine team will discuss common metabolic imbalances that can lead to collapse and our soft tissue team will discuss acute respiratory distress that can cause fainting episodes.

We will try to give you all the strength you need not to wobble when facing such challenging cases!
