About the course

This one-day course is aimed at veterinary surgeons who would like to take their echocardiography skills to the next level. The day will be a mixture of lectures, demonstrations and practical sessions, with the emphasis on having adequate opportunity to practice the more difficult echocardiographic views. Topics covered will include the use of Doppler in echocardiography, optimising the image for echo, indications and techniques for performing left-sided views, and of course practical sessions.

  • Obtain an understanding of Doppler ultrasonography
  • Indications –when to perform Doppler echocardiography in practice
  • A logical approach – how to perform the left-sided echocardiographic views
  • Identify normal vs. abnormal
  • Put it into practice – get stuck in!

Equipment and Facilities

BCF Technology will provide all the necessary ultrasound equipment.  **Please note that because of the difficulty providing animals for scanning, delegates are kindly requested to bring a friendly dog with them for the duration of the day. It is important that the dogs can be clipped as appropriate for a complete abdominal ultrasound exam.**
