Cytology is quick and easy to perform in practice. There are a variety of sampling and staining techniques suited to different skin lesions, but all can be performed in practice to give a quick patient-side confirmation of a bacterial pyoderma. Cytology should be performed in all cases to confirm the diagnosis of pyoderma before starting treatment. It has a key role is reducing unnecessary antibiotic use. This webinar will describe how to perform and interpret cytology in practice.
