About the course
This course provides you with the knowledge on how to handle un-cooperative dogs, including both theoretical and practical training.
This is an intensive course, limited to small numbers of delegates with classroom work & practical sessions.
The morning sessions cover the theory of handling dogs,legal aspects of dog handling, health & safety, and basic animal first aid.The afternoon is a practical animal restraint session at a kennel.
This course will give you skills and confidence for a career in dog handling - such as an animal warden or kennel staff.
Delegates will consider:
- Animal identification
- Relocating animals
- Animal health examinations
- Handling equipment
- Practical dog handling tasks
- Assessing animals
- Protective clothing
- Cat handling
- Handling, restraint, & transportation of animals
- Handling equipment & protective clothing
- Animal assessment
Delegates will not handle 'high risk' animals in the practical session
