About the course
Endocrine disorders are being seen increasingly commonly in practice and the veterinary nurse plays an important role in the management of these cases.
During this course you will look at the nursing of a variety of endocrine patients including hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, hyperadrenocorticism, hypoadrenocorticism, diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, insulinoma, diabetes insipidus, pituitary dwarfism, Conns syndrome and more!
A number of nursing considerations will be covered including the pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment, nutritional management and prognoses of many disorders; as well as hospitalisation, urinalysis and feeding tube techniques. Delegates are encouraged to bring along information on any endocrine cases that they wish to discuss.
