About the course

Reptiles are becoming increasingly popular pets. This course is aimed at veterinary nurses who wish to expand and update their knowledge of the more common reptiles.

This course focuses on nursing the common reptile, such as the herman tortoise, bearded dragon, gecko and corn snake and will include:

  • Telephone advice & transport
  • Handling
  • Consult & examination
  • Admission & accommodation
  • Nutrition & advice
  • Administration of medication, blood sampling & fluid therapy
  • Common clinical conditions
  • Surgical nursing, anaesthesia & post operative care
