About the course

A full day review of orthopaedic emergencies and common, non-traumatic, orthopaedic conditions.

We will aim to cover all aspects of orthopaedic patient care from the initial assessment to post-operative rehabilitation, with a focus on making the day as interactive as possible. We will discuss the role of the team in the initial assessment and treatment of non-traumatic and emergency situations and follow these patients through surgery to their recovery and rehabilitation at home.  Delegates are encouraged to bring case examples for discussion and the day will aim to focus on the day-to-day situations commonly faced in practice.
Specific areas to be covered:

  • Orthopaedic emergencies and initial patient assessment
  • Common orthopaedic conditions and treatment
  • Nursing of the hospitalised orthopaedic patient
  • Patient rehabilitation
