About the course


This course has been designed for those delegates with an intermediate level of knowledge in veterinary abdominal ultrasound. It is the ideal follow on course from the 2 day introductory course.

You will review machine set up and learn how to recognise common artefacts, how to perform a basic Doppler examination and consider the ultrasonographic appearance of various common abnormalities. Case based examples will help you consolidate your knowledge and the highly practical nature of the course will enable you to improve your technique rapidly.

Ultrasound guided biopsy and aspiration techniques will be taught. 



  • Machine set up and recording of images
  • Commonly seen artefacts
  • The normal and abnormal ultrasonographic appearance of the abdomen including the liver, spleen, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract and pancreas
  • Performing elementary abdominal Doppler examination
  • How to perform invasive ultrasound guided procedures
